DataSpell provides spelling correction capabilities and suggests correct alternatives.

Advantages

• DataSpell is a completely configurable spell checker which adapts to the user's needs. It allows for detection of frequent errors, like:
  • Misspellings: filtrear (Spanish)
  • Wrong accents: camion (Spanish)
  • Confusion between "B" and "V": llubia (Spanish)
  • Confusion between "LL" and "Y": yamar
  • Confusion between "S" and "C": hases (Spanish)
  • Confusion between "C" and "Z": conduziendo (Spanish)
  • Wrong spelling of "U" after "G" or "Q": gepardo
  • Wrong spelling with "H": handar

• It detects words that have been misspelled with white spaces:
  • plaza del mus eo (Spanish)
  • zapa tilla (Spanish)

• It detects words that have been wrongly joined and must be separated:
  • trabajarmadrid (Spanish)

• DataSpell can be configured to take into account other criteria such as:
  • Differences between upper and lower cases
  • Edit distance
  • Other frequent misspellings
  • Grammatical category of the words (more or less relevant suggestions depending on the grammatical category)
  • Whether or not to spell check words forming expressions
